As Richard Feynman pointed out once at an Asilomar conference when asked about Anti-Gravity (paraphrasing) “We have perfectly functional Anti-Gravity now; a good sturdy floor does the trick!”
He rememberd me more to the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal which is so dumb that it assumes that if someone cannot see it, then it cannot see the person. As long if Brewster didn’t know about the station gravitiy, it worked as he thought.
I would say that in real life, physicists would be all over Brewster trying to find out how he defied gravity, but then experience with Brewster would have made them jaded by now and just take it for granted.

I thought about Warner Bros. cartoons in general and that the station’s gravity machine must be from the Acme Corp.

Brewster can break the law of gravity because he never studied law…

I sure hope nobody tells Brewster that the gravity aboard the Sirius is “artificial” . . . oops . . . ☻

Now that’s the Brewster we know and love.
