Transcript:
What is is, Petraeus? What's wrong? He senses injustice! Check out new pix of me fighting evil. Up all night battling evil. U? Tyranny had a bad night... Anyone tackling injustice in Uzbekistan? Need $4300 to clean out pockets of evil in Kunduz... ZZZ! Voice: Sorkh Razil? Time to fight evil again! Jeff: I'm raising an extraordinary question... Who's the real enemy-- Al Quaeda or social media? Editor: I see that. By night he fights evil. By day, he updates his Facebook page... and tweets... and blogs... and networks on LinkedIn... and fundraises on Kickstarter... and blasts email until he succumbs to fatigue.

Social media can only defeat you if you succumb to it.

What is the reference to Jean Marat? Not familiar with Marat.

Wow! The death of Marat by the great David – what a great painting.

Marat was assassinated by Charlotte Corday while writing in the bath. “S. Razil” is sleeping in the bath while tapping out content for his multiple social media entities – the modern equivalent of the radical newspapers that Marat wrote for.
Is Mr. Trudeau commenting on the insanity of having an obsession with social media so great that one loses touch with reality and begins to believe that the digital world is the “real” one?

Either Trudeau is channeling David or our Sorkh Razil needs to watch out for a certain Mme Corday

And anyway, wouldn’t Wallis’s The Death of Chatterton have been more appropriate?

Oh, jeez, didn’t notice the Marat thing until I read the comments. Having recently studied the French Revolution I feel kinda stupid. Good eyes!

I posted this a few weeks ago during another particularly manic “sarge” period. By the way, when I read about the mentally ill Elvis impersonator sending out ricin-soaked letters to the congress and the president, I immediately thought of our resident birther…
>“Sarge” is just a hyperpartisan lunatic who has taken up residence under the bridge here at Doonesbury. He has repeatedly demonstrated an inability for any type of rational discourse. The most you can expect is “I know you are, but what am I?” or some other childish nonsense. He fervently believes the hate-filled spews of people like Arpaio and Orly Taitz, while systematically dismissing any and all information that doesn’t conform to his warped world view. I’m guessing that most people he knows either laugh at him or feel sorry for him. I personally find it easier to ignore his sad irrational musings.<

I hadn’t noticed before that Sorkh Razil is left-handed.

It’s actually good to see Red Rascal getting back to work.Who knows? He may still land a movie deal, after all.

Social Media is a new reference for S.& M.

I just want one birther, once, to tell me why the birth announcement was placed in the local paper when Obama was born. Did someone foresee he would run for president or know that this was a vital part of the plan to sneak a Muslim into the White House 50 years later? Some people must work really hard to believe things that have no logic behind them.

Guard Sgt, have you ever heard of the Koch Bros.? The ones who own most of the Republican party? They’re not exactly charming people with a stainless past. Or present, for that matter.
