Ironically, recent issues of Rose Is Rose show Pasquale enjoying such a “home beach” vacation.

With Hobbes together this beach is certainly enjoying and it is clean. That you cannot say from every beach!

You have sand, you have water, and it saves on gas!

Hobbes should invite Alix from Stone Soup over to introduce Calvins to the underwater wonders of the pool.

Sand and water. No sharks or jellyfish. Sounds OK to me.

At least, you are not back in school, yet, Calvin. Think of all you peers that are facing a teacher today rather than a sand box and wading pool !

The good thing about that beach is it’s not overcrowded.

Only thing missing is a traffic jam.

To quote Calvin, misquoting his father, “Go do something you hate, being miserable builds character.”

And it’s not like they never go to the beach. I guess somehow Dad hated those trips more than camping.

I had the same idea for a false beach in my hot city, but no one wanted to come. :(

Childrens’ sandbox = kitty outhouse. Make sure to cover it when the child is not in it.

About ‘water’ you complaining, Calvin?

OK, he’s in the pool today, but complaining about getting soaked with the hose a couple of days ago by you-know-who (We promised not to tell).

Let’s see, no broken glass left in the sand by drunken jerks; no jelly fish; no rip tides; no overpriced chemical concoctions passed off as food and drink; no thieves; no current drunks; no loose dogs; no …A great improvement on a day at the beach, at least for a six-year-old.

its cheap and you don’t have to worry about wasting gas.
