Luann: "YES!! QUILL'S COMING TO DRAMA CAMP!!"
Dad: "He is? Wow. All the way from Australia for a drama camp!"
Mom: "I think you meant to say, all the way from Australia to see Luann"
Luann: "Yeah, dad"
Dad: "Even scarier"
My Forecast: Luann & Quill are at drama camp – Tiff is putting a strain on the situation – meanwhile – Luann meets ANOTHER GUY she really likes. A 17-18 year old girl SHOULD have trouble making up her mind at that point in her life. A ligttle different for Brad & Toni – who are actual grownups.
I don’t understand all the Quill hate. I really liked him and thought that he and Luann made what they thought was a responsible decision not to get involved because he could leave at any moment. Then attraction reared its head. Who does the Anti-Quill want Luann with? As far as I’m concerned, Quill is back by popular demand.
Looks like Frank didn’t read the “script” that Lu “handed” to him….--He also got the “eyeless glasses” fx, probably fog/steam from the heat that Luann was giving for his miscue….
“I’m kind of thinking it was done that way to give Frank a totally clueless, devoid of sentience appearance”^So true! While I was thinking just the one way (in terms of the effect), you so very aptly (and colorfully, I might add) supplied the actual cause…. could even be both at the same time, given Frank’s “What? What’d I say now?” and Lu’s glare of doom… —That’s part of why I said Frank didn’t take his “cue” properly, cuz the guy had no clue… It all adds up to minus health points for poor Frank, any way you slice it….
End of camp, Quill and Luann proclaim their undying love for each other. Quill boards plane back to Australia. Plane crashes at sea, No survivors. Everyone lives happily ever after.^^LOLOLOLOLOLOL
The guy can afford to flit back and forth to Oz – she better hurry up and make her move!^^He doesn’t need to afford it, he is coming over as Tiff’s guest (read back a few months ago)
I’m kind of thinking it was done that way to give Frank a totally clueless, devoid of sentience appearance. Like at a casino where they take the insides out of a slot machine – the outer shell is still there, but the slot windows are blank…^^Yup, exactly, old cartoonist’s trick

More of a reference to participate in an activity in which the other person’s eyes pop out from the physical thrills.

Quill: BACK by UN-Popular Demand.
Okay Lu. Now’s Your CHANCE.
Let’s SEE if You can have a REAL Romance with the “Manikin” WITHOUT any of Your USUAL BS Excuses and Predicable Flakiness.
I’m Betting You DON’T.

is it just me or is the art a bit off today

The style seems different. Compare it to Saturday’s comic this seems much more … cartoony is the best word I can think of.

What? No comments (like when this camp was first brought up) on how Quill is in school during the US summer?

Frank is reading the “Indispensable Newspaper” . Perhaps a subtle message to promote that medium.

Luann has lost weight, getting a more adult look. Course Dad can’t see that because he has no eyes (or mouth)! See no evil? Speak no evil?
