Maybe you can lead a horse to decaf but you can’t make him drink it? I don’t get it either.

Is decaf like drinking from a mud puddle?

I feel like Horace sees the difference between caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee quite extreme: decaf is like drinking out of a puddle.

Oh, I thought Samson was just saying that decaf tasted like mud. (And other coffee doesn’t?)

For many (except me, a tea drinker) coffee is that pick me up, like an oasis in the desert, hence the 2nd panel). Like hope or an oasis, in the “desert” of a long, drawn out day (forgive the pun, please….). So, if you’re searching for coffee for that lift, the fact that it won’t give that “pep” AND the taste of non-caffeinated coffee…it’s like winning the publisher’s clearinghouse prize of….. 25 cents….. the anti-climactic ending, if you will….… or it’s llike hoping that the sound of the ringing phone means that it’s that hottie calling to say they like you, but finding out it’s “just” uncle Fred…. a real letdown of hope….

On a side note, I actually know of someone who’s allergic to caffeine, INCLUDING chocolate… whenever they go shopping, they are the first to notice when stuff comes in a flavor that they can’t have, unless they want what almost seems to be an endless headache….

    Old joke:

Husband: “This coffee tastes like mud!”

Wife: “That’s strange; it was ground just this morning.”

If you roast your own decaf it’s better than any store bought caffeinated you can get. I’m roasting as I write this. Of course, roasting your own caffeinated is even better. You can’t beat the real deal.

If you want to roast your own, look up Sweet Marias.
