Actually, women (not “girls”) have been heroes in science fiction all the way back to the 1950’s, especially in Heinlein’s work.

Well, the Black Widow in a leather cat suit always works for me.

That’s funny since well over half of modern sci-fi and fantasy especially have a female protagonist. I don’t mind at all. I always loved a kick-ass girl. See Anita Blake, Mercy Thompson, Honor Harrington, et al.

An Honor Harrington movie is in the works,but no star has been named yet. Suggestions?

Oh, certainly a woman can be the hero, as long as she wears thigh-high boots and shows a generous amount of cleavage. In lieu of that, a skin-tight cat-suit will suffice.

Such word hair-splitting! Yes there are female heroes! Just like there are female actors! And male sluts! Geez!-Anyway, cute strip today!

I’ve written 8 sci-fi novels now. Self published three. Like to find a traditional publisher someday. I usually put both sexes in my stories. Three novels feature women captains of ships. In a few of them, a woman ‘saves the day’ with her brilliance and/or toughness.

The hero/heroine doesn’t have to hero alone

Ellen Ripley, Leia Organa, Alice, Katness Everdeen, River Tam, Sarah Conner….nah, no female heroes in sci fi. ;-)
