Someone pointed out the other day that the brooch flew into the soup tureen when Maggie got hit by the car. Don’t have the link handy.

A pig puzzle! = a big puzzle. Yes, who’s the pig? Maybe we should name him Red Herring—

This is Porky Pig, with taller eyes, taller cranium, smaller nose—but he does have a bow tie! I don’t know how to put a picture in comments: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130119151356/looneytunes/images/f/fc/Porky_Pig.gif

The pig looks like the logo of the Pig Stand drive-in restaurants of yesteryear.

Was Porky in the funny p-uba-p-uba-p-uba-p-uba, oh rats – daily comics? While I can’t imagine Warner Brothers passing up a cross-marketing opportunity these days, I only recall Porky in Dell comic books.

This isn’t remotely like Porky, and it also isn’t remotely like proto-Porky (as in “I Haven’t Got a Hat”). And it isn’t a Disneyverse pigface, either. Alleyoops is right, it looks more like some pork logo or other than any newspaper comic pig I can recall.

If it IS Porky Pig (I’m not convinced), why is he in the Old Cartoon Home? He’s as current as all the other classic WB characters that still appear in the “Looney Toons Show” on Cartoon Network, now in its second season. (Hilarious non-classic addition: Lola Bunny, Bugs’ ditsy girl-friend, voiced by Kristin Wiig.)

Agreed—it is certainly not Porky Pig (though he did appear in the cartoon strip “Bugs Bunny”) nor any other Warner Brothers pig nor any Walt Disney pig. The more I look at him, the more I think he’s just a cartoony pig grinning at us, thinking, “Say, folks, isn’t that Slim Skinner just like me?” Even the pig’s cane points at Slim! Hm, maybe Pig-Pen will come along—

It might be a logo. It seems I recall that on one of these strips a commenter mentioned a different character was a logo, but I couldn’t find it. Maybe I’m mistaken. Fairly sure it’s not Porky, though.

Today’s pig looks like the logo on a Piggly Wiggly market delivery truck I saw many years ago(sans the hat)

I think I have seen this pig somewhere and it’s not Porky or the Piggly Wiggly pig. I don’t think it’s the Pig Stand pig either. I think it might be a Warner Brothers circus ringmaster pig.

Lola Bunny originally showed up in “Space Jam”, voiced by Kath Soucie.
