Meanwhile, California goes without any significant rainfall since December because the “storm door” in the Pacific opened far north in Washington.…When we got high wind warnings and scorching temperatures out of season (like 92 in Livermore in the first week of May), it was snowing in Colorado even on the eastern plains, which is a rarity for May at 4,000 feet above sea level, but not for the elevations above 6,000 feet in the mountains and the high country.
