What’s a hod carrier? I also don’t understand misfortune about the bricks. Thanks in advance for telling me, whoever responds.

A hod is a 3-sided box, usually mounted on a long pole and carried over the shoulder. Used in the building industry for carrying bricks and/or mortar.Wikipedia has an excellent explanation at:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brick_hod

Anybody else reminded of Walt Stack, the Legend of Dipsea? . . . He carried Sand and likely lots of other stuff.

“We’re in trouble, Dobe.” But he was still smarter than Gilligan.

It wasn’t just the bricks that made him quit…

Andy would have gotten another job, but the people responsible for helping him were totally incompetent…

Our Guy in Boulder Says:Done Sunday night:

    You’re replying to Number Three:

I’m pleased that you don’t have to do a steady diet on the chemicals. I have been outside a good deal today. Did some weeding and a little more cleanup. Spent a goodly amount of time with the garden, mostly with the water lines. The new components look like they are going to be satisfactory. I hope to have it all together with seeds in the ground by Monday evening.

When I was weeding by the fence the neighbor, Phil, stepped up and said hi. He returned a couple of jars that I had left with him last fall with my homemade salsa. I make it with mine and Joe’s tomatoes. He (Phil) is getting solar panels installed on the roof and talked about it. Shortly after we broke “Puppy Dog” came around to my side. A rare time that we get together without fence metal between us. She had a mouthful of her trademark tennis ball; the one I throw in our usual meeting spot. Not so warm today but tolerable. I caught an episode of “Still Game” before answering this. se6-e4. Today was good and may Monday smile bright sunniness on you ! .Classy “Cap” stunt, Number Six !Nice “nails”, bev !Glad you got your balance, John P., and I’m pullin’ for ya too, Six !  I seem to be extra quiet and ‘invisible’ in public unless I’m in familiar surroundings. Sorry about your breached confidentiality, Chalkie. I’m more or less transparent when dealing with po-liss. so, they either appreciate upfront or think i’m Looonee, which is okay with me. I still get the checks. Pride !  Whut th’ hell iz pride ?

    The Bloodhounds #6 …..

From that she would deduce that he’s a beaver or a termite with a very creative G.I. tract. I laughed aloud at this one. Good that there was nobody present to wonder if I lost another brick… er.. marble. .Since we already have sum gud splainin’ on the hod I wont have to add.. Nerf bricks wouldn’t weigh that much..Saw a baroke Chawk-ee at Monty. Sedgie and Jarvis are two of my favorite characters; same as Moonie and the bird; and the robot and the vacuum cleaner. You’re in worse shape than I thought…………poor guy.

If Andy’s hod held cans od beer instead of bricks it would be getting lighter by the minute.

Thanks; the real sad part is this was instigated by a Capper; One calling themselves a Christian, even. Their lies have mi facing possible eviction, just over a chance to bloat One’s ego. Funny thing is, They are ashamed to admit It!

cessna172 said, “Most hoddys rarely carry bricks by hand, they use forklifts with extendable booms.”

Certainly; but there is still need for a specific Hoddy called a Hod Carrier.

@Number SixBoth your comment about the “SPIRIT” level and your Bloodhounds were funnier than today’s Andy! @beviekThere were a lot of power lines downed around town but I didn’t have any damage. I actually met Bob Denver years ago when he, Russell Johnson, and Dawn Wells came to town for a meet-and-greet. In fact I have a picture of me posing with them. (Nobody has really lived who hasn’t posed for a picture with Gilligan, the Professor, and Mary Ann…..) Maybe I can dig that up and post it instead of me posing with an Andy cap down over my eyes. (I don’t like to close my eyes in the daytime, what with all the enemies I make……….)

I’d possibly have never heard the term ‘Hod Carrier’ if not for Runner’s World Magazine [lifetime sub.] and the articles on Walt Stack. He was one of the slowest Runners, ever, but always finished; always had a Smile and something nice to sai. Not a ‘hero’ per se but a “Will Rogers” type certainly. Respected and admired for just being Walt.

You know who from the Red Rocks State says:

You’re welcome, John P.. .@alleyoopsIf Andy was a hophead his hod would go up in smoke !.Great hod carry pic, Chalkie. Say hello to eldo/steve for me. .You drove those nails home with a big hammer, B.I saw probably most or all the Gilligan’s show but maybe only a bit and pieces of that Dobe show. I thought it looked promising. They reran Leave It To Beaver add infinity where I growed up, but not the other one. The “Beev” was a good show as was Andy Griffith.

    @Gweedo Murray

Glad you were ‘reunited’ with Puppy Dog! Dogs seem to like me also as they run over to me if not on their leader so I can pet them.

I hope Phil gets his solar panels very soon. How long does it take to install them?

I think I’ve only saw a few clips of ‘Still Game’ on Youtube but I remember laughing at it.

It wasn’t sunny today… It was a lot worse yesterday though as it was raining heavily and was foggy too.

I hope your day went well.

I do wish Tony and others wouldn’t let ‘Mademoiselle Diablo’ get Their Goat. I don’t feel good about that happening; sure don’t wish to add-to, but It’s part of the spectacle. I’m willing to “pan” the next appearance, and if we aal follow suit, “It” will be but a blip and not a blot. Is that a good idea: just ignore/not mention?
