…timing of this comic is perfect – I went for a hike yesterday afternoon, and came back with 5 ticks…ugh!…I may discontinue hiking until after tick season…
Once we went to Grandpa’s old place, looked around and enjoyed outselves greatly.Afterward, the rest kept complaing about all the ticks they had picked up.“Well, just pick them off.”“You can’t pick them off, they’re too small to see.”“I’ve never seen anything too small to see.”After making that statement, I realized it was inherently true but not proof they weren’t there. i looked closely at my hairy arms and could see three or more between each and every two hair follicles. I must have been feeding billions. (millions? gobs!)
I was a camp counselor and a camper came to me with a tick. I went through all kinds of permutations to get rid of it – whatever passed for soft soap back then, a match that had burned down but was still hot, etc. Forget how I got it out. Then I got a tick embedded in ME. I straightway pinched that sucker and RIPPED IT OUT!

Oh, c’mon, Arlo, show her your tick.

Problem probably is not in the showing so much in the telling while we might hear the word. :)

where ever it is, it sure has ticked him off!

Hi Downundergirl, I think the tick is “somewhere down under”
RichardPollack almost 12 years ago
Arlo is wise to find the tick. It should be removed promptly and evaluated to assess risk. FAQs on ticks can be found at IdentifyUS online.

I had a tick there once, and anything else i say would leave the family friendly atmosphere far behind.

I don’t think it’s embarrassment on his part, as much as him being a smart-a**, giving a perfectly valid response, just not the answer she wants.

I don’t recall that anything untoward happened. Didn’t CARE at the time.

Those little buggers go for the warmest spots and the blood is closest to the surface. Getting them THERE is usually a gimmee.
