It really sucks when you finally find out what upper management really thinks of you. I was always wary of the ones who would come around with the smile that didn’t fit the rest of their body language.
I recently found out my true value at work: 20 years with the organization, applied for a position where I was very qualified for and probably the most qualified and technically competent candidate, only to lose to another candidate outside of our department with less experience—and just before a downsizing reorganization where my position was done away with.
