It doesn’t appear that he was the “first” to say it though… http://quoteinvestigator.com/2012/05/06/other-plans/

Yeah, I thought the same thing. But maybe she just doesn’t want to leave her friends. Must be hard.

My daughter was eleven when her dad went off in search of greener pastures, and the back-and-forth thing was just murderous on her. One day she was happily prattling on to me about all she was looking forward to doing with her friends that day, and when I pointed out that she’d be going to her dad’s instead, her face crumpled and she said, “I HATE going to Daddy’s! I HATE going back and forth!” It wasn’t that she didn’t love her daddy, but that his living elsewhere disrupted other things that were also important to her. It is hard for children, no matter how famously adjustible they are, and parents should be more attentive to that.

“…the only real solution is to be careful about who to marry. I would like to teach that class!”

What sorts of things would you include? (Serious question, as this is a huge issue for many people, so I’m really asking.)

Yoko may not have had the sensitivity to leave the “boys club” alone. However, I think the Beatles, John and Paul in particular, would have broken up in due time anyway. One positive is that it gave the very talented George a chance to shine away from the Lennon/McCartney shadow.

Like her work or not like it, but Yoko was an experienced artist before she met John, not a mere mindless groupie. She’d already had exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art. She probably went for John because he was a brilliant, think-outside-the-box thinker and doer like she is.

I found it interesting to learn that each of the four all felt that the other three were really tight and they were the outsider.
