Rover was born about 1978. His birth parents are Beulah and Gus Bump. They had raised him as a dog. He was Clovia’s and Slim’s foster child from Apr. 20, 1981, to Dec. 1, 1983, when they adopted him. http://www.roverdramawerks.com/06_PastShows/gal_FamousR/gal_img/roverbump.gif Gretchen was born to Clovia and Slim on Apr. 13, 1978. Rather ironic about Basil Rathbone, Danny’s foil in that movie (no pun intended). He was quite possibly the greatest fencer in Hollywood history, but always lost his on-screen matches because he was almost always the villain. The one hero I ever saw him play was described in the original literary source as an excellent fencer, but never had the opportunity in Rathbone’s films. That fell to Nicol Williamson in “The Seven Per-Cent Solution”.

So it IS a dog!
I don’t think Lucky the cat will take this news well.

First Sluggo gets a new dog, and now Slim. That’s a pretty fancy name for a hound.

“A Doberman Pinscher (Kleine) and a Great Dane (Sieg) comically shared Slim and Clovia’s already too-small apartment.”

For those of you who kept saying GA is going to the dogs, you asked for it. You got it.
