Paige: Mom! Mom! I got an 89 on my math test! Andy: Paige, please don't interrupt. I'm talking to your brother. Now, Jason, what were you saying? Jason: I got a lousy 106 on my math test. Paige: AAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Andy: I could have sworn you were asking me about laundry. Jason: Oh, that's right.

And I know what the short version of “Richard” is that would fit him, RWJAMES!

Andy managed the situation badly from the start. .“That’s fantastic, sweetie! I want to hear all about it, but first let Jason finish what he was telling me.” . . .“No, you were asking me about the laundry. What you did was very mean and totally intentional. *” .* = insert small but meaningful punishment here to get the message across.

Paige doesn’t get good dialog. Instead of “AAAAAAAAAAAA” (which is what Jason got on his test), she should have responded “Dweeb.”

Shame on you, Andy! If I had a daughter who came running in with the news that she’d gotten an 89 on her math test, I would’ve been thrilled with her hard work.
