The Krypto movie could be followed by a film about Ace the Bat-Hound, then one where they’re both recruited into the Legion of Super Pets. It’s about time that Streaky, Comet, and Beppo get the exposure they deserve. (Ace wasn’t an original member of the LoSP, but the movie versions always change things.)
Why do some readers seem to miss the fact that Kathy is a lot like Roy? Reminds me of when Seinfeld viewers would ask why Elaine would hang around with a bunch of maladjusted losers, and would miss the fact that she was one too. The female character is expected to be the normal, healthy one. Only the male is the wacky eccentric. Maybe we just don’t play up Kathy’s geekiness enough.
Kathy is such a wonderful compliment to Roy. Smart, geeky, and pretty in a geeky kind of way. Not only that she rings his chimes, may thier romance never go stale.
I enjoy the Kathy and Roy romance. It is such a nice antidote to the standard media view, in which everyone has to have the same set of interests and look like models in order to be happy. Kathy and Roy are much more true to real life…my geeky friends seem to have ‘happily ever after’ down pat, while the so-called ‘normal’ people seem to have mastered misery.
We’re always going to have a reader or two who’s reflexively judgmental. People who pass judgement or hold biases tend to think that they’re the ones being reasonable.
I’ve always thought they were made for each other (like the time she used that carotid pinch on them to get his attention). I like to think that my man and I are that suited for each other ( too bad he doesn’t agree ).
I kinda know how Roy feels. I didn’t care for about half of Man of Steel either. On a side note, I did write a treatment for a Supergirl movie. It had Comet, the super horse in it, but the friend who read it said my treatment was still 100 times better than what was actually made for the Supergirl movie. Some movie people just don’t get comic books.

Kathy loves Roy, and Roy loves Kathy. That’s all we need to know, isn’t it?
