Mr. Burke: She's so nice. I can't help wondering sometimes, what if I were 15 years younger? Frazz: Nobody ever wonders what if she were 15 years older. Just an observation. Mr. Burke: If I were 15 minutes younger, I would try not to start this conversation in 14 minutes.

When I read such crappy comments I rather would not belong to the male part of the human race.

What’s wrong with being with an older woman if he thinks it could be a good thing?

It’s a bit creepy that the premise of the strip is that a teacher fantasizes about women who are closer to the age of his students than to himself.

Seems like no matter who is doing the wishing, man or woman, younger or older person, they would wish the older one to be younger. Why wish away someone’s life rather than wish more life for someone.

My old Irish Grandpa told me “Laddie, when you start thinkin’ about a Girl, take a good long look at her Mother, ‘cause that’s what you’ll be wakin’ up with in twenty years.”
Those sage words saved me from at least TWO very serious mistakes.
Thanks Gandpa!

The New York Times “T” magazine had a nice article about praise for the older woman. As an older woman myself, I feel so much more relaxed, accessible, fun, fulfilled, and, yes, sexy than I did 20 years ago. And I don’t look bad, either (if I say so myself…).

I’m 72. When I turned sixty, and a colleague asked me how old I was, I told him, I was old enough to flirt shamelessly with young, good looking men, but too old to take them home. Now , I just want to pinch their cheeks. I mean, the ones on their faces…..

Because if SHE was 15 years older, that would be 15 fewer years you could have together. Duh.

I think people are assuming she’s a minor from her appearance. Granted, we can’t see much of her, but before I read the dialog, I thought she was an elementary student.

Nobody should be considered a sex object. That term is vulgar, or at least improper.

we are all people before we are male or female, and it sometimes takes a lifetime to be recognized as such.

PS re my penultimate paragraph above:
The reverse is also true – if you DO form an attachment to another despite the lack of an initial physical attraction, you will soon find your brain revising upwards your first judgment of attractiveness.
