Finding something good to watch on TV is a challenge. Weekdays OR weekends. I often find myself visiting AMC for an old movie. Last night, I watched as Clint Eastwood (as Dirty Harry) said to his boss, “Your mouthwash ain’t makin’ it.”

When I was their age, we watched college football on saturday afternoons just as an excuse to see them (the networks) show the cheerleaders perform on slidelines after every commercail break. And trust me, they had very few commercials on TV back then.

When I was their age the two independent channels used to run old movies from 11:OO am until 6:00 pm. Abbot & Costello Theater, Sci-Fi Saturday, Kung-Fu Action Theater, etc. Dad and I thought that was how you spend Saturday. :)

I was taught growing up that Saturdays are for doing projects around the house - we were in trouble if we watched TV after breakfast and before supper.

My staples for Saturday mornings were Three Stooges shorts(short films, not articles of clothing) and Tarzan movies. Sometimes I had to settle for Bomba: http://tinyurl.com/5ct9b9 Hah–Bomba looks like Albert Brooks.

With 100’s of channels we have junk to watch. I miss all the old independent channels that got bought up to make the FOX network. At least back then it wasnt all the same, no matter what channel you’re on. And I HATE spending a ton of money for channels I never watch on cable or dish, like all those stupid sports channels.

I loath American football. I prefer real football.
