And before anybody complains about Elizabeth talking to a stranger, the latest wisdom I’ve heard is that you teach children if they get lost to ask a woman for help. Women are less likely to be predators, and more likely to stop and help a child in need.

You never know sometimes there ARE crazy ladies that could be just as bad a predator as anyone,….

I was told to find a policeman. That was when there were policemen on about every corner of town.

A policeman told me this. Have the kids look for another Mom with kids. They usually get the child to the correct place and stays with the lost child until the right person comes to get them.

Moms are like that… take your eye off them for just a sec & they’ll wander right off…

How do you answer the door without opening it? Sound doesn’t travel well through a door.

I remember when I was a young kid that I got lost once in a department store. Of course every woman looked like my mother. I was scared to death. After my mom found me, she told me that if we ever got separated again to stand outside where the restrooms are and that worked.

That’s right. Remember the movie “Cloak and Dagger”.

As an elementary guidance counselor, I taught stranger danger to every class every year, but also taught sexual abuse prevention, which included both strangers and people they knew. They learned that no one had a right to touch them in a way they didn’t like, especially in the private area of their body, defined as the part that their bathing suit covered.

Our rule, before the kids got old enough to be trusted with a cheap cell phone, was to “Hug a Tree”. Keep looking around, but stay where you are. We’ll find you.

Most 4 year olds do not wear diapers.
