Steve’s mind is elsewhere and says, “I thought they like, blow a horn, or something…”^Lol! Yeah, that question would be one of the biggest blunders one could commit there…and sooo many possible reasons to ask it… such as maybe from sheer nervousness … or the “wandering mind”…. or the preoccupation with the…“after party”…. or the fact that the future FIL is pointing something at the groom’s back…

Well, finally a break from the “drama!” Good to see Brad and Shannon getting along. Obviously Shannon respects him a lot more, no longer calling him “BWAD.” I also like seeing Brad implementing some excellent parenting skills.

I went to a wedding a few years back where the groom said “Heck yes I do” It was a reference to Napoleon Dynamite. But I heard " I guess I do" and was quite shocked. Glad it was explained to me.

Perhaps Greg & Karen are just trying to present marriage as a sacred covenant by using “priest”. Especially since our society has de-emphasized the sacredness of marriage in order to provide same-sex partners with the same civil benefits and heterosexual couples who are married.

“Priest” could certainly refer to a variety of religions, but given the number of Catholics in the US, it’s likely that Brad did indeed mean a Catholic priest. More important, they apparently are planning a religious ceremony.

@Donny Wallace said:“Brad provides limits for Shannon and she loves him for it:Brad acts like a satisfied teen/coolest person in the room in front of Shannon. I think she likes that she can talk to him like a friend 1 on 1 and the girl who thinks it funny that he is not grown-up and mature like the other adults and she can keep him in line according to her definitions that help to make her one of the best or best characters for Luann. Toni may be stressed out and annoyed with her (and The brother?) So Shannon probably likes Brad’s contrast to the other adults in her life.”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Shoulda quit right there. Little girls stamp their feet and scream, little boys are demolition experts in training. Both need limits, not ‘imposed’ limits, but expressed with quips and talking with them at their level of impishness. I suppose that’s what I’ll be remembered for at the funeral. Some have already told me of those moments, and I see they’re using the same tactics on their own kids, so my job here is done.

TORAD_07: Methodists use the same form. While Methodism started as a movement within the Anglican tradition, it became a denomination long before the “do” to “will” change. I had a bunch more priestly religions to list, but previous posters beat me to them. Methodism has two orders of clergy: deacon and elder, the latter also called priest, but the terms are seldom used by the clergy and almost never by the laity.

I’m sure there are. Some in my family have tried quite a few of them in their lifetimes. I tend to believe that what matters more than what you believe, is how you (to quote the Episcopal saying) “love thy neighbor as thyself.”

BTW, JayBlue – the Pibgorn page is what I was following, but some things are missing, like the “font” tag… although I’d imagine it would be, since it’s use is depricated in HTML 4.0.1, and not even included in HTML 5.

Perhaps one of the reasons for her improved behaviour is that an adult (Brad) is finally challenging her, rather than dancing to her tune (as Toni is wont to do). Shannon needs limits, Brad provides them, and she loves him for it.^^I was saying that since nearly a year; for quite a while, I was the only one defending Shannon , while most everyone else was saying she was a monster and that she should be written out… She’s my favorite character, btw :)

For example, High Church (Luth, Episc., Cath. and E. Orth) as opposed to, say, evangelicals and fundamentalists. Not that I really care, being somewhat of a HinJew/Pagan.-As I once read in the LA Free Press, Dogma just divides us. We need Catma.^^I get all the Catma I need, worshiping at the “Church of Shonen Knife” :p

Shannon has grown up a little here; she isn’t throwing a fit because Toni isn’t home yet, and seems to be very comfortable with Brad. A good sign in that she will be a very important part of Brad and Toni’s lives both now and after the wedding (which is probably going to be a long time coming, unfortunately)… ;)

Most religions have priests; even some Protestant Christians. Is it that the only only ones that don’t are Baptist derived? I plead ignorance on the reason some don’t. I know Mormons do, and they are very Christian.

As Leviticus said earlier, TJ is asexual.

    *

This is another of Lev’s troll subjects. TJ likes women, and he isn’t shown with a GF because there’s no one in the strip appropriate for him to be with. TJ with no GF is no weirder otherwise than Bernice or Delta or Tiff or Ox or anyone else in the strip who should by now but does not have a “relationship”—unless everyone thinks that Bern, Delta and Tiff are all asexual and the idea of having sex with anyone, regardless of gender, turns them off.
