No, we are not still addicts. There is little to no nicotine in e-cigs,along with a gel that produces the water vapor which simulates smoke. There is no smoke or tobacco to smell or to affect anyone else in any way. The danger in cigarettes is mostly in the 300 plus other additives and poisons that are added. Here is my comment in Frazz from September 11.
I am a vaper. Have been since February 2010. Haven’t had a “real” cigarette since March 19, 2010. I feel good, I don’t stink of tobacco smoke, I don’t contaminate anyone else’s air or leave butts anywhere. They have minimal to no nicotine. I use 12mgs and have 6mg and 0mgs that I’m working my way to using more. (Started with 24mg.) This should be the perfect compromise, but some people still treat vapers like smokers. I guess some people aren’t happy unless they think you’ve suffered.

Forgot to mention with the nicotine content, there is none of the other 300 plus additives and poisons that are what is killing people. Nicotine alone is not the biggest problem.
Lynnskay : Then you should meet a fellow musician at my church. He brags about e-cigarettes changing his life, but can barely get through the service without one and stinks at 15 feet in a dead calm indoors. Granted, the tar is essentially eliminated, but before Maggie Americanized the British drug scene, heroin addicts were functioning well on prescription doses of that narcotic.
