Does that make Marigold mono-focused, or uni-focused?

you both have good points. it IS hard not to think of unicorns. it is also kind of off topic. I wounder if Marigold can even relate to doing some thing she HAD to do that was hell for 12 or so years and completely pointless as it didn’t actually teacher her useful skills in life, gave her bad advice and the more successful unicorns are the ones who quit doing it but that she spent good money on it to complete it to get some thing that was no longer available after it was over because she wanted to make her family proud and that she could have a chance to teach on to others if had others wanted to learn it?

Unicorns and ponies occupy the thoughts of many little girls a good deal of the time as well. It is part of the universal equine magic.

Marigold not being typical. Ah Phoebe, that is the nicest thing you could have said. Who wants to be typical anyway. it’s boring! Better not to be typical. More fun.

Fan note to Dana: Thank you again for this strip. When my best friend and I were at the height of girls-crazy-about-horses age we couldn’t get to the riding stables nearly often enough. So we created our own imaginary stables complete with estate names, horse names and bloodlines….the works. That was more than fifty years ago, but still very much alive. I still ride whenever I get the chance, and Phoebe and Marigold bring back those magical days. Thanks again!
