You can’t even tell there was anything in there. It all must’ve gotten cleaned up. It looks like a fence somewhat.

What’s funny is that one person said what Lucy yesterday on this strip. Lol

No. Snoopy is not a smoker. After all, he wasn’t on that ‘It looks just as stupid when you do it poster.’ : ) Besides, he sleeps ON his doghouse, so even if he had done that, it probably wouldn’t have affected the inside.

I think this is when I quit reading Peanuts many years ago. The theme was not funny and Lucy was so cruel, it excited so much negative energy in myself, I just quit reading it.

I wonder how many readers making the ‘smoking in bed’ joke in the last couple of days knew that Schulz had beaten them to it. I remember this story well.

Well, since we’ve never seen him smoking or in bed (other than CB’s), I’d say it’s a safe bet that the answer is no.

Snoopy never smokes in bed, no one does that, but smoking is dangerous to anyone’s health.

That’s right, I don’t think he ever sleeps inside the doghouse. But what did he have in it that started the fire or was it arson? Who dislikes him so much they’d burn his house down?

No, Snoopy doesn’t even “go to bed”, he sleeps on the roof. He hardly ever even goes inside. My guess is that Woodstock and his buddies were cooking meth in there.

Of course back in ’66, cigarettes were still advertized on TV, in fact there are commericals featuring Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble sneaking a smoke out back while Wilma and Betty do housework.

He may have been smoking his pipe while reading the financial section and then fell asleep.

Schultz cheated on his wife repeatedly. His treatment of Lucy must have been an echo of how he treated her and blamed her for his own guilt feelings—pretty sad.

Has anyone ever seen Snoopy smoke?

The surgeon general’s report linking smoking with lung cancer came out sometime in the early 1960s. This strip came out just a few years later. I think a LOT of the general public smoked at that time because it was just one of the things adults did at the time. When a house burned down, I remember a lot of people speculating about what caused the fire. Smoking was certainly one of the suspects high on the list of gossips.

Actually, you just know Snoopy would have a hookah. Hard to smoke in bed with one of those.

Doubt he smokes in bed, seriously doubt it, I am thinking rather she smoked his bed, I mean she said repeatedly she thinks he did.

been crying about this even though it’s a comic strip always loved Snoopy and Peanuts since I was a kid I 44 now hope soon we’ll get to the strip where Snoopy gets his new home
