With the light globes on the sides of the door, are we sure that it isn’t an asylum? LOL

She tells people her parents live in a dump of an apartment?

I don’t know about this girl.

The globe lights were common in upscale areas of cities. Unfortunately, those areas are mostly run down now.

Susan makes an excellent point. Just what is happening in this strip?

Maybe next, Guido brings his parents to stay there, too. The long-suffering Skinners are being imposed upon big-time.

That “dump of an apartment” is more than you apparently have Gretchen.

Maybe Walt has an extra room.

Gretchen is an ungrateful spoiled child! If she hates it so much, she should get her own place! Oh wait, she tried and failed!

That “old dump of an apartment” has the historical value of the old dump of a former railroad section house I grew up in. Put some of that value into your heart, Gretchen. It’s precious, and a pox on anyone who even thinks to raze it.

To some in this world it would be a palace. She doesn’t know how lucky she is to even have a home. If it is so bad then why does she mouch there?
