I’ve expounded this theory before. Texting is a major part of young people’s lives. It is vital to their communications and social status. Therefore, it is also an important part of the courtship ritual.
Now according to Darwin, those more successful at courtship mate and pass on their genes. I can see that perhaps in a couple of generations we will evolve into a race of large-thumbed individuals.
I can picture the future where a couple of teen boys are hanging out at the mall. A girl walks by. One boy elbows the other and says, “Get a load of the thumbs on her!”
