“The Vicky Mendoza Diagonal:A person is allowed to be crazy, as long as they are equally hot. Ideally, you want your date to be above the diagonal line, indicating that they are hotter than they are crazy.”
I always wondered about Charlie’s problem with the red haired girl. He doesn’t have a problem talking with other girls.
Maybe it’s because he grew up with these girls and they aer familiar.
Peppermint Patty is a new girl, but she’s got the kind of personality that will force you into a conversation whether you want it or not. And let’s face it, she is not intimidatingly beautiful nor does she act very girl-like.
I don’t mean to be trite but pretty is as pretty does, and Lucy’s a long way off from making that. As for the LR-HG, Dashiell Hammett wrote about a woman who was not pretty, a little over-weight and a little slovenly, but was irresistibly attractive because of the way she was with people. That little red-headed girl doesn’t need to be a raving beauty to reduce CB to a puddle; he just has to see her that way.

It looks like they were actually getting along fine. I don’t mind Lucy in this strip. She DOES have a point. Poor CB.
