Tom the Dancing Bug by Ruben Bolling Presents School Time Rock! "I'm Just A Law" Boy: Hey, Bill! You passed both the House and the Senate, and were signed by the President! You're now a LAW! Why are you down in the dumps? Bill: 'Cause being signed into law is just the BEGINNING of the legislative process in our democracy! Yep, the next step is that either Chamber of Congress can threaten to SHUT THE GOVERNMENT DOWN if I'm not killed! And if I survive a shutdown, they can threaten to PUT THE U.S.A. IN DEFAULT, and not even pay its debts! Boy: That's real bad! Bill: You bet! They can hold the country and economy hostage! CIVICS Boy: Wait. Is this really part of the process? Now, if I make it past all THAT, a minority of congressmen can build a diamond-mounted laser-satellite and threaten to destroy world cities unless I'm defunded! Man: Good news, Bill! You still haven't been struck down, and you go into full effect today! Boy: Wait, I... Bill: Oh, yes! Now we move to the NEXT part of the legislative process -- surviving the apocalypse cannibal hordes! END

.Better a zombie Apocalypes than agreeing to a law that passed the republican house?Kapaock ,you either work for FOX News or are a stooge in the Tea Party wagon…a complete anti~American f**k…

@tmoverbeckThe Supremes already O.K.‘ed it. The majority of the public voted for it in the last election. So suck it up, Tea Party, it is going to work in spite of all your efforts. But then, I forgot, you don’t really give a damn if it does. All you want is to fight the “good fight” ,no matter how asinine, or how much risk you run in ruining this country. You are truly the un-Americans here. All you want to do is tear down and destroy the institutions of government because they don’t fit your narrow minded world view.

I support the Affordable Care Act. I also am angry at those who are screwing so many people by keeping the government shut down in an attempt to change/kill it.

Why do Teabaggers hate America?

@3hourtour:
Cannibals aren’t necessarily zombies. Other than that, you clearly understand what I was getting at. Carry on, and enjoy your public health insurance option.
(P.S. You actually believe that when the House passed the ACA in 2010, it was controlled by Republicans? Get a clue, little buddy.)

The matter of Obamacare being law should’ve been put at rest after the Supreme Court upheld it. The Teabaggers are sore losers who simply hate the President & want to throw every conceivable roadblock in his way to governing. This is now the 21st century & the Jim Crow era is over.

American’s so hate the affordable care act that over 8 million have signed up to the marketplace in their home states.
Mongruel about 11 years ago
Well, first of all – I’ve read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights… I can’t find anything there about anybody being entitled to affordable health care.
Second, just because the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court uphold a Law, doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the final word… as we are apparently seeing. Otherwise, there would be no shut-down of the govt.
It looks like a substantial number people in the United States wish a further discussion on the matter…
… and I don’t see a problem with that. You know, it takes more than a few people to shut down our entire government… thank goodness! If that were the case, we wouldn’t have a government.
So, why all the hysteria about doing some further review of this Law? Since when is having a discussion dangerous?Let’s revisit this and see if we can come to some sort of compromise.
Why is further debate a bad thing?
Mongruel about 11 years ago
@woodsz “… case closed”I’m afraid the government being shut down would suggest otherwise. :-(

Bad Supreme Court rulings can get reversed, but sometimes it takes a generation.
Isn’t ruling a law unconstitutional something that conservatives hate, being somehow against the mandate of the court system?
