Good Morning Crew. Time to put pumpkins away, and pin a blood drawing poppy to the left lapel of your coat. Lest we Forget, right? ..Dry ā it got to -4C yesterday. Thatās roughly 28F. Was B-E-A-utiful, like you are. :D
Ooooh, good meals offered to you vets on 11/11. Olive Garden, Applebees, Red Robin, etc. etc. etc. Last year at Applebees a Boy Scout troop came in with leaders and the young boys went around to all the tables, had an honor guard. Some vets had tears. LEST WE FORGETā¦ā¦.WE will never forget.Make a pumpkin pie, mouse!
Rememberā¦there was a crooked man, he had a crooked house, he had a crooked cat and he had a crooked mouseā¦ā¦and, that looks like a crooked mouse in the strip today.
@Dry re the blood yesterday. I talked to my Aunt, who has been a nurse since the late 1970ās .. .we agree it was either a) my nose bleeding after being clogged or b) the back of my throat, as Iām āharumfingā to try to dislodge phlegm and clear the throat, so itās overly sore, and probable that I ātoreā the lining a small bit. She said if it gets worse to go to ER>
Allan my mom was a nurse. In fact, she was a LT. in the Army Nurse Corps. in World War 2! I think nurses sometimes know more than the doctors, especially, the ones who werenāt āBOOK LEARNEDā as much as being on the floor and being trained. I can remember my mom ironing her WHITE uniforms, NO SLACKS in her day, which she wouldnāt have worn anyway, not professional. And starching and ironing her Nurses Cap. Back in the day, the nurses would wear their nursing school pin on their caps. Now you canāt tell a nurse from a nurses aide, or the cleaning ladies for that matter. Sad.
Mom always hoped I would become a nurse, but once when I was about 10 my Dad and I went to pick mom up from work, and they wheeled this guy from the ambulance in front of me who had lost his toes under his lawnmower, that ended that idea for me! I didnāt have the courage or strength to follow that career.
My aunt was a nurse under General Pattonā¦.I wish I had thought to ask questions. I missed out not thinking to ask my grandparents lots of questionsā¦..alas.
