Yes, Leopold….you know he could also have told the truth too…. they burned when trying to get free and the laptop probably controlled the circumstances….
I imagine this strip would be kind of spooky to the religious people who literally believe in and fear burning in hell forever. Two things perplex me. 1. If the sinners go to hell, wouldn’t they be on the same side as the devil, so why does he burn them? 2. Since the devil gets so many more soles than god gets, does that mean the devil is winning their battle?
Oh joy..I am reminded of a science fiction short story in which the scientist discovered a serum for eternal life. The thought of being married to his wife forever drove him to murder her. (I’m Assuming divorce was a sin and unthinkable.) He said nothing during his trial because that state did not allow the death penalty if no defense was presented. He screamed upon sentence of life, presumably without parole. I figured he could wait out the collapse of the government.
