    Actually, any extinctions due to hunting was caused by market hunting for food and/or fashion. Taxes, fees and equipment cost by sport hunters have saved as many or more animals than killed.

    Reminds me of the old Gahan Wilson cartoon of the hunter, covered in blood with a smoking shotgun, with a maniacal look on his face, whose fellow hunter says “Congratulations, Baer! I think you’ve wiped out the species!”.
