Either the printer or the editor made a boo-boo. I’m guessing it should have been PASTIS. Also no circled letter in AND. No wat to solve the puzzle

Rat seems to be missing it also.

Despite its name, it’s not really the funny bone.

Pastis didn’t make a mistake…. to say someone is missing his “humorous” would make no sense…Someone too serious or unfunny is often facetiously said to be missing his “funny bone”, ie his “humerus”.

Pastis took the Jumble up a notch. He made the scramble words make a sentence about Pearls (untrue statement)!

Where do I go to find out if I got it right?

I remember when FoxTrot did this several years ago: the “Jason’s Jumbles.”

Like the second line in the jumble. There was one like it in an old book called “Puzzles Anybody Can Solve.”

Jumped to humerus without having to do the d@mn puzzle. So much easier, takes less time. Didn’t have to get all jumbled up in the clues.

Okay, for the anatomy:what is referred to as the “funny bone” is actually part of the ulnar nerve which gives that miserable twang when you hit your elbow wrong. So, near the humerus,but not it — which is just fine because this is a groaner pun on the singular of humeri, the bone in the upper arm.

Thank you for making me think a little this morning! I look forward to this strip each and every day. And the puns are delightful, creative license is not something I FOSSA bout….
