I know of two things happened in 1950: my mother’s brother’s birth (10 February) and my father’s birth (27 December).

I was born 1949. I remember it like yesterday. The Korean War began 25 June 1950.

so what DID happen in 1950?

Was the correct answer to Gracie’s question “Tia Carmen was born”?

Two events known of 1950:

1950-01-26: India adopted new constitution, making it the first Republic in the Commonwealth. Queen no longer head-of-state, that function now performed by “elected” (by legislators and MP’s) President (also India managed to invent THE most useless post anywhere and ever, that of VP-India)1950-06-25: Korean War started

Forgot about India’s new constitution; remembered Korea. Go fig, brain fog

Oh boy.

Maybe it’s the year Mr. Cantu and/or Castellanos was/were born?

In 1950 I was graduated from Lealman Junior High School in St. Petersburg, FL. I thought that the question probably referred to the Korean “Police Action.”

Some specificity would have been helpful. Lots of things happened in 1950.

The Phillies, the “Whiz Kids”, won the National League pennant and then got swept by the Yankees in the World Series.
