Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for November 13, 2013
November 12, 2013

Transcript:
Marigold: It is growing dark. If you mean to practice piano today, I should take you home. Phoebe: First let's sing "99 Bottle of Beer on the Wall" again! Marigold: Hang on tight. This is going to be an EPIC gallop.
Epic gallop sounds fun and with a unicorn thats even more epic, maybe even a sped name beyond gallop.
on an unrelated note I do wounder from Dana and the fans what ideas that can’t fit the strip either for continuity or the editors not allowing it, have you always wanted to see happen in this strip or Ozy and mills and is that idea being expressed or will it soon be expressed in the form of art or fan art on Deviant art or the like? I already follow some fan art and Dana’s deviant art, just looking for other sources and trying to inspire ideas, start a conversation on what if situations etc. Also I am aware of Tumbler, but it never wants to load in pictures. don’t know if its my browser or if pictures only show for members..any how just trying to see whats on you “wish this would happen” list of fanart/ fanfic and other non-canon ideas.
Anyone else notice Phoebe’s jacket in the last panel, or Marigold’s leg-warmers in panel one? Dana’s shading work just keeps getting better and better.
Marigold’s only other choice is to buck Phoebe off. An epic gallop sounds far more exhilarating and likely to energize. Besides, singing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall is rock bottom on the procrastination scale. At that point it’s best to do the thing you’re trying to avoid.
I love the fact that despite being a unicorn, often consumed with her own brilliance, Marigold is actually trying to be a postive influence on Phoebe by getting her to do her work. Though, it could just be due to the fact that she (Marigold) knows that all creatures are not just born brilliant like the UNICORN! :-)

Call me suspicious, but I suspect Phoebe is up to doing anything to avoid piano practice.

“99 Bottles…” sung in EPIC Gallop time:
“99 Bottles of… nuts, we’re home.”“Unicorn!”

There is nothing wrong with creative procrastination. The last possible moment is always the best moment for any unpleasant task.

Never put off until tomorrow those things you can put off until the day after tomorrow.

Or, considering the song, may the Schlitz be with you.

I thought Marigold rearing was pretty epic all by itself. I hope we get to see the gallop. I’ve had many a gallop but never bareback.
Oh…never on a unicorn, either.

And…I absolutely love Marigold’s leg warmers and scarf. So practical. So stylish. So unicorn!

Hmmm…. I wonder whether an Epic Unicorn Gallop might get them home before they started.

I did not know that unicorns had warp drive.

Or go with the programmer’s version: 99 little bugs in the code, 99 bugs in the code, fix one bug, compile again, 101 little bugs in the code!

As we know, unicorns sing “99 Buckets of Oats on the Wall”
