this is usually a very good comic…today however it crossed a line..and is FAR from amusing at all.

Y’all need to chill…I think Brian Crane has simply been watching the classic movie Charade in which Audrey Hepburn says in response to Cary Grant’s chat-up line, “I already know a lot of people, and until one of them dies I couldn’t possibly take on anyone new.”

I think he just lost one.

This comic strip is pure fun. But, as soon as I read it today, I knew someone would cry ‘racist’ and batterd_citizen did. Pity. We love Pickles and find nothing to whine about.

Nah, he’s kidding, sort of. I know that “disk full” feeling very well. In the next frame (unseen) he sticks out his hand and says, “Nice to meetcha.”

Don’t criticize Earl if you haven’t been in his shoes.

I’m only 44. But I imagine at that age you’re tired of seeing all your existing family and friends die that you’ve known forever and can’t take the emotional toll of making new friends only to see them die as well.

That was not even remotely funny. I don’t care if Cary Grant did say something like it.

Is it bugging anyone else that this brand new side of Earl’s personality is showing up when someone tried to introduce him to a person of color?

Hope you all have a nice holiday weekend. Sounds like some of you need it badly. While you’re giving thanks and meeting family and stuffing yourselves with goodies, see if you can lighten up some.

Yes, this was funny but it doesn’t look so good because the gentleman was of non-white ethnicity.

Guess you either laugh or you don’t. I laughed. Reminded me of Doctors saying they are not accepting any new patients.

I passed to the next comic strips, after reading this one, but just had to come back and say: This is disgusting. I’ve always felt Pickles was fun to read, now I wonder!

Yeah, very rude, but I know how Earl feels. Not that I’d ever say what he did. :) I get people saying “hi” to me all the time. I recognize their face, know I should know them, but have no idea what their name is. I was bad at remembering names as a young man, now that I’m not so young, it’s getting worse.
