This wasn’t a flop; you just have to understand the reference. Sam & Dave were R&B singers in the mid-Sixties who had Top 40 hits titled “Hold On! I’m A Comin’” and “Soul Man” (which the Blues Brothers covered in 1979…Tell us you’ve at least heard of Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi).
Look just under Sluggo’s strumming hand in the third panel and you’ll see “Soul Man Model” written on the guitar. Click on the strip to expand it if need be…I had to at first.
