Really, Zonker? Did you and your wife tie down competitors, throw used truck tires around their necks, fill the tires half full of diesel and set fire to them. Remember the good old days when ANC and SWAPO were internationally condemned as terrorist organisations trying to loot an entire country. Sorry, I was there, look up Winnie Mandela and necklacing.

Once you are big enough to make sufficient bribes campaign contributions, you qualify for Federal subsidies and price supports.Just like Archer Daniels Midland and the other family farmers.

Oh, and necklacing been around awhile, Winnie and ANC popularised it and put it on the front pages. Winnie was head of ANC because she was married to and communicated with Nelson while he was in prison. Wiki places him in Pollsmoor rather than Robben Island in the early 80s, and in 1988 was transferred to a prison with a private cook. At Pollsmoor, when he had the most contact with Winnie and the outside world. Nelson was a chosen figurehead because he was so clean and articulate. His continued support for Winnie after it was well established she was a glorified profiteer tarnished his manufactured history. Mandela sure as heck is not my madiba. Tutu was no saint, but orders of magnitude a more important agent of change.

No, that would be the Bible… Wikipedia would be an online people’s encyclopedia based upon certified, substantiated facts which the Bible ain’t got!

Back to this individual strip, I only see them taking a beating here. They think pot being legalized will make them rich when they grow it. The opposite will happen. Humboldt County in California is awash in pot. The growers can’t give it away. Marijuana is easy to grow and cheap to produce.

OK… my previous post apparently went bye-bye so I’ll try it again. Wikipedia is obviously NOT the voice of God, that would be the Bible which was INSPIRED by God who wrote nothing but 10 commandments (supposedly). Wikipedia is an online people’s encyclopedia of certified substantiated facts and observations supported by citations; something the Bible ain’t got.

I would believe what I read in Wikipedia before what I read in any newspaper or other news media. I’m not saying it’s all factual, but more believable than unsubstantiated rumours, gossip and opinionated media hounds.

“Maybe he will stop calling marijuana “weed” too.”-Yep, a weed is an undesired plant. since he desires it, for him it is not a weed.

When in the history of the strip was Zonk EVER imprisoned (or even arrested) for possession? I can’t remember. I remember something about him taking some of Duke’s stash, making brownies, and mailing it to his buddy Cornell for some chemo patients – did he get charged with anything around then?

I will type slowly for you. The quote I posted saying necklacing began in the 1980s was originally made by leftwingpatriot. I quoted it because he had Mandela’s location wrong. The practice of necklacing has existed about as long as pneumatic tires existed, and occurred often in the early 20th century around the Balkans. Nelson Mandela is the man who brought violent terrorism to the struggle in the 1940s.

Nelson divorced Winnie for adultery, plus he found a younger prettier model. Originally Winnie had filed for divorce because she found someone new, then realised she needed his political cover. You cannot comprehend how the alleged loss of credibility in this forum concerns me. Please try to read for comprehension.@mitchtheone: Your statement is easily disproven. Nelson first brought terror and murder to the ANC, against the founders’ wishes, and necklacing was unnamed until the 1980s, Nelson did “burn out stumps” in the 50s and 60s, like many people did, except his stumps were men. There is documentation from the 1940s from Mandela to his chief supervisor at ANC, that he would use that practice only against men, never women and children, because the leaders felt killing women and children would make them look bad and lose the sympathy of the world. You are confusing Mandela and Tutu. Mandela never condemned the actions for which she and her group committed, and it took Tutu’s pressure to even have a few trials. Nelson’s behavior was as doughfoot described. Please people, research and check your sources for bias. I realise Mandela has only been dead for one month, but he really wasn’t the leader some here think he was. As you may guess, I met Nelson a few times, but would have never been asked to eulogise him. I could eulogise Tutu and overlook his moral failings and praise him to the heavens for his disciplined role in ending Apartheid. I hope all can learn from the past, and deal in facts rather than emotions, and use our emotion of wanting to help the disenfranchised and beaten down with positive constructive engagement. I wish you all the best in the coming New Year, and hope we can resolve to work together to help build a better world. Thanks,JusSayin

Yes, i’ve heard all that, although I saw it spelled Hearst as in Patty Hearst.me not knowAnd it’s the same old thing one man’s weed is another man’s medicine..Many in my family grow marijuana, or did ere getting caught, because doing so was lucrative. I favor full legalization, which can only happen when President Obama throws out the international treaty outlawing it. Up until then, it is still a federal crime even if the chief law enforcement officer only prosecutes selectively..Nonetheless, I have to wonder at the oft repeated claim hemp makes superior paper. It looks like if this were true and considering that not every nation signed the theaty and that hemp grows well all over, that there would be a lot of hemp based paper being produced..For that matter, Hurst or Hearst could have made their paper from it if it were true..spunds paranoid to me
