When we were looking at new apartments, I told the wife I would pay the extra $90/mo for an extra bedroom if I could turn it into a man-cave. She got the huge closet for her clothes and crafting stuff. I look out the 17th story window from my custom L-desk. My chair swivels to the computer area and the writing area and book shelf. I can see all my logo ball caps on wall hooks and in-between my old license plates from the dozen states I have lived in. Life is good.
Same for us . . . hubby has his “den” which is in reality a man-cave. I took the sun room for my little space. Life is great when you can have a room all to one’s self for a little while each day!
They used to be called “dens.” And before that, in the 18th-19th century, “the library” was the man’s refuge (since it was assumed that only men read books!). My hubby has one; his “den” is lined with books and DVDs and CDs and all his beloved gadgetry. He listens to music, with his eyes closed…while breathing deeply…lol.
my husband says he doesn’t want a man cave but we have a extra bedroom/computer room that is mostly his. He spends most of the day playing games on his computer and watching TV so I guess that is his “man Cave”. I just set my computer up in the kitchen so I guess that is my “wife cave”. lol
My husband has his “office”, really a type of man cave. Beautiful photographs he’s taken and photoshopped are on the walls. One desk is for computer things. Another is for correspondence and cabinets for our old “vinyl” records, as they’re called today, complete with a turntable that really works. The closet in that room now has a workbench and tools. I dust and vacuum in there once a week, but only after he tidies it up.

When I was little, my sisters and I would have called that a fort, except we would have “walls” made from chairs to give a little space.

My sympathy, Earl. I have approximately 2500 square feet of man cave.

My husband has his man cave and I have my craft room. And, since we moved in this house, he has his bathroom and I have mine. Ultimate luxury!

My man didn’t need a cave. Our space together was just fine with him. Miss him.
