That movie is really, really depressing. I mean, think about it, the guy sacrifices his life goals for a lot of unappreciative bounders, everybody else goes blissfully along with their happy little lives oblivious to how much the guy did for him, he sinks deeper and deeper into depression bordering on mental illness, and is on the brink of abusing his wife and kids and then tries to commit suicide. Merry Christmas???
Didn’t find a review of the movie by them or a critique, but their video showing life withoit capitalism was a bit rosier than history would lead one to expect..The line, “Take away the carrot and all you got left is the stick,” sounded spot on.Whenever people won’t do what you want freely, the alternatives are to offer them incentives for compliance, punishment for noncompliance or freedom to do as they wish even if it isn’t what you wish..Earl is free to make Opal happy or suffer the consequences.Opal is happy making a life with Earl and Nelson and all our wonderful characters.Nelson is happy knowing them.

Many of Frank Capra’s contemporaries derisively referred to his moves as Capra-Corn. I still like them.

While I am of a libertarian bent, believing in maximum liberty, most Libertarians tend to be a bit off kilter.
