With so many styles, I can’t imagine how hard this is to draw. Some folks just can’t appreciate that, I guess. Either that, or their ‘Christmas spirit’ has left the building.
There should be 18 before we come back to John Zakour and Andre Noel. And yes, we will visit Andre’s time on the strip, and Kyle Miller’s. Malcolm will hand-pick samples of their work that many of you may remember.
Another negative opinion, boys and girls! I suggest you go back and read through the comments. Other people are enjoying this. Or is your opinion so much more important than everybody else’s? When you say ‘who cares’ it sort of implies that you’re speaking for everyone. Please don’t. You weren’t elected to.
If a strip takes a direction I don’t like, I stop reading it. “Kit ‘n’ Carlyle,” for example, has had this ridiculous ghost cat for some time now, so I’m giving it the boot. Don’t like what WD is doing on Sundays, don’t read it that days.
But don’t say something isn’t funny just because it doesn’t appeal to YOUR sense of humor.
It’s nice to see more “historic” CJ. I didn’t originally care all that much for her character in the “modern” strip, but she has evolved into one of my favorites. It just occurred to me that (correct me if I’m wrong) we haven’t seen any of Mrs. Jensen in the evolution of the strip though yesteryear. I find her to be, if not an appealing character, certainly the most mysterious. After all, hasn’t she been at MMM before anyone can remember, and no one knows what she does?

There are two basic kinds of working spaces — high rise slums and urban sprawl.

Keep it going, guys. It’s fun to read the history.

I think this series really shows off Scott’s ability to mimic other styles.

Interesting, I have to see where this goes now.

It’s called “cliché” and it’s not funny. Normally I look forward to the Sunday funnies, but not with this strip.

OK, the rightmost panel with Jay reminds me of the Professor at his desk in “Shoe” by Jeff MacNelly. Had that scruffy look in the late 70s

Happily the archives do go back a long way now. For awhile they didn’t.

Scott and John, if you get a chance, Bill Maulden would do a very interesting job with this strip, ie Willy and Joe.
