I gotta admit, I’m a little nervous seeing Marigold wrapped in all that live electric wire with patches of snow on the ground. A friend of mine had a short-out that tripped nearly every circuit breaker in his house when some snow melt got into one of the plug-in junctions of his Christmas display.
Marigold can certainly conjure sparkles, but I don’t remember them being this bright or this spectacularly polychromatic.
I had to look online, but I see they do make LED Xmas-tree lights now, including replacement bulbs that can be screwed into traditional light strings and run on house current.
(Modern LEDs are incredible. I have an LED flashlight that we used as a table lamp for several days after Hurricane Sandy, and the three D-cell batteries were still perfectly good after 30-odd hours of continuous use.)
nice pay off for this week’s strips. When I 1st saw that I was like “Phoebe what did you do” then it turned out Marigold did that to her self. Unicorns must really love there sparkles.

Now all Marigold needs is tinsel, garland, and a few ornaments. ::grins::

Marigold is superior to the sparkling tree. Kite-eating trees, on the other hand…

I suspect this is going to be something of a yearly theme now.

For New Year’s, they should discover the battery operated lights, gather the other unicorns, and have a parade!

If the National Lampoons had a unicorn, they would TOTALLY decorate her for the holidays! :D
