60 yrs ago—when i was Red’s age-my mother would use heavy cream (which is used to make whipped cream) as a substitute for the milk. she would patiently stir it in the pan, until it came to a near boil. i can still taste that cup of chocolate heaven. enjoy Red and Rover…

I remember so well the pancakes my mother would make me when I came in from playing in the snow and how good they tasted.

Though today it finally warmed up (and considerably; here it was about 50 degrees colder only last Tuesday), a cup of foamy hot cocoa still sounds wonderfully cozy and comforting.
