Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis for January 23, 2014
January 22, 2014
January 24, 2014
Transcript:
Goat: Our creator, Stephan Pastis, has been thrown out of his house by his wife, Staci. Pig: Oh, no... what's he gonna do? Where's he gonna live? Pastis: Move over. Rat: Not happening.
I am sure that after seeing this National broadcasting of the fact that Steph’s first choice after his wife is bedding down with Rat will get the issues that caused the split to be quickly forgiven and forgotten
So many seem to be forgetting that Pig and Rat share a house. So, Cartoon-Boy may be choosing to bed down with his alter ego, Rat, but he is at the same time under the same roof as Pig, too.
Doesn’t Rat have to comply with what his creator chooses to draw (including sharing that big bed)?
Stephan, Staci just wants to see the guy she fell in love with and had the hots for, once in awhile. So take a bath, put on clean clothes and shower her with affection. Maybe she’ll remember that it’s a good thing you’re cute and forgivable. At least that’s what my wife tells me.
Funny, but just before I read the strip today I just happened to wonder if Pastis was married and stumbled upon this blog entry, headlined "My Marriage is Headed Down the Gutter — http://stephanpastis.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/my-marriage-is-headed-down-the-gutter/
Interestingly enough, I was just reading where love won’t keep the Captain and Tennille together: After 39 years, she served papers on him. She’s 74, he’s 72. Makes you wonder.

Pastis, that is not drawing on your imagination!

Wait a second… he’s MARRIED!? With all the poorly-executed puns, I assume he lived in his mom’s basement.

this should be interesting…

His characters shouldn’t be concerned about where Steph will sleep. There’s plenty of room at the Hotel California!!

Doesn’t Pastis work with an unusually long lead time? So whatever might have happened (or been made up for comic effect) has been resolved b now.

Kick the rat out of the bed. Rat probably got you kicked out of the house anyway.
tangcameo about 11 years ago
Maybe he becomes Rat’s new human pet.

The couch is so much better!
