RAG: Robot Actors Guild Purple Robot: Robot actors are replacing human actors in movies and TV! Purple Robot: And just like human actors, it gets harder for robots to find roles as they get older and their bodies start to fall apart. Casting Human Robot: Oops, sorry. That arm keeps falling off. They don't make replacement components for me anymore. Casting Director: Uh, I think we'll cast a younger robot. Purple Robot: The harder it is to get parts, the harder it is to get parts!

I was accidentally exposed to some of the “screen actor’s guild award show” last night. Oh the vanity! Thank god for ill health, petty crime, drugs, poor casting choices, lawsuits, aging, and bad plastic surgeons to humble the hubris.

Well, if they’d just use modern materials like composites this wouldn’t happen. Cast iron is notoriously brittle.
