Petey: That's Orion. Alice: Huh? Petey: It's a constellation, like a big dot-to-dot with stars. Ancient cultures invented them. Alice: oh. Alice: I see. Petey: It's one reason ancient cultures aren't around anymore.
Sorry, it wouldn’t be a nebula. She’s invented an asterism: a group of stars in a recognizable pattern that is NOT a constellation. The Big Dipper is an asterism; it’s only a part of the constellation Ursa Major. On the other hand, if Alice’s face is in Orion, that would turn Orion’s sword into something hanging from Alice’s right nostr… Nononononono. Nope, I am NOT going there.Dang it, too late. And I’m out of brain bleach…
I was thinking that Alice saw Dill in the sky. Wasn’t he the last one wearing the jester’s-cap type thing, with three “horns”? Of course, it would make more sense if she saw herself.

Never figured out how to pronounce Orion. Is it O’Ryan, or OR-I-on?

Living in the city, there aren’t that many stars to make out most constellations. The big dipper pretty much is the only one I can point out.

There is a nebula in the constellation of Orion. It is that fuzzy spot in the sword hanging down from Orion’s belt.
You might be able to see it on a really clear night. Binoculars are good to use for this.
