The majority of squirrels we see in this area are the common grey squirrel. Occasionally, one see the larger fox squirrel that is reddish in color. Only very rarely do we see the type of fox squirrel that is mainly black with some red highlights.
Council Bluffs, Iowa has mostly black squirrels, and more than a few have migrated to Omaha. We can usually see one or two in our neighborhood though most are red-brown.

The majority of squirrels in my back yard are black, an occasional grey or red, but mostly black.

Think I was once somewhere in Tennessee once where they had a large population of white squirrels. Not sure whether they were albinos.

When I was in high school, there was an albino squirrel that would hang around. Haven’t seen one since…

Van Wert, Ohio USA, is near me and is packed full of them; you have to drive carefully so as not to hit one…
