The parents should be happy that Calvin directs so much of his malice toward Hobbes.

You are right Calvin, it is annoying, don’t try it with mom.

So, Hobbes will give NO warning that he is about to pounceon you and shred you limb from limb. You can be an incred-ibly nasty little bugger, Calvin ! Serves you right !

This is disturbing when you take into account that Hobbes is only animate in Calvin’s mind.
