I wish such a nice dog for me!!

What a beautiful picture of the perfect four-legged guardian angel.

My dog crawls under the covers so he doesn’t watch much of anything.

I think Rover is watching to see if Red goes to the refrigerator for a late night snack.

If my boys aren’t under the covers, they sleep one on each side of me so I can’t go anywhere without waking them. Constitutes “watching” me in their book.

There is nothing like the love you get from your dog. My Beagle curls up against me every night.

Sadly my Dog likes to sleep with my parents,not me.

but whenever I want her to sit on the couch with me she will.

Calvin needed Rover much more than Hobbs, Rover could have taken care of all the Monsters hiding under the bed!!

What all good dogs do naturally.

R&R is one of my all time favorites.

Simone the pit bull I fostered slept downstairs guarding the front door, but every now and then she’d come upstairs to check on me and my folks.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful thoughts and comments. I lost my Rover, “Reeses” (like the peanut butter cup), five years ago, but I know she still watches over me while I sleep.

Nice one Brian..My Basset ,however, only seems to watch over me if I am putting something in my mouth..

I can’t sleep well without my “watchdog” Irish Setter, Katie! ;)

My dog watches over me, if she hears something that is not quite right she will get in front of me and stand guard, this is priceless! I love her she is my best friend.

I often wake at night to find one of our BCs wakeful and watching. Our first one, Skye, slept right next to the bedroom door all his life. He once very quietly put himself between my husband and an aggressive male goose protecting its nest. Being a herder of sheep is evidently a many-faceted job.
