    Just today, my wife offered me a tuna melt for lunch. When she served it and I took the first bite, something was way off, so I asked her. She said, and I believe this is an all-time quotation for the books:

    “We ran out of pickles so I put in some chopped broccoli.”

    This was actually the first strip from the second week of Close to Hume strips which officially started a week earlier on November 30, 1992.
