We don’t know what to expect in Baltimore. Washington and Philly are both expecting massive amounts of snow, and the weather bureau says we should get 2 – 4 inches. Anyway, please pray for my grandson; he works for Baltimore Gas & Electric and will be out in this no matter what.

Camp Hill, Pa is much the same. They have no busing and all students live within the 1 mile radius of the borough proper-so no excuse for being closed.

Twice Jill Garmin (Jill is the selectable voice’s name) has tried to make me turn the wrong way onto one-way streets.

I’m also in the famous N&W Philly burbs, and the last snow wrecked dozens of trees on our condo’s property. But almost miraculously we never lost power, while a few hundred yards away they were down for days.

I was disappointed that configuring my Garmin to sound like Darth Vader would cause it not to give street names — only say “turn right” or “turn left” instead of “turn right onto Whatever Road.” I think Darth Vader (or a similar-sounding voice) should be one of the default voices that gives street names.

I’m from Philly but now live in Mexico City: no snow, no really cold weather, lots of sunshine. Lucky me!

I think pop needs kicked out to the nearest corner to see how well he finds his way back home.
