If you think this switchover of Charlie Brown playing outfield and Peppermint Patty playing pitcher, wait until April Fool’s Day when you see Craig Ferguson guest hosting The Price is Right and Drew Carey guest hosting The Late Late Show!
Hey, Chuck! There’s no “I” in “team!” Peppermint Patty respects you and wants to give 100% to your team. Being part of the team is something to appreciate regardless of what position you play! Patty has more class in her little finger than Lucy has in her whole body! ☺
I can see why Bill Watterson cited Peanuts as one of his influences for Calvin and Hobbes. I see some similarity, the way Charlie Brown talks to Linus about what’s on his mind is kind of like Calvin’s philosophical discussions with Hobbes. Also, the fact that Schulz wrote the forward to The Essential Calvin and Hobbes is great.

Or perhaps a taste of victory.

It may not be your team, but at least you have a chance of being on a winning team.

Is it me or Charlie Brown just showed “vanity”?

Charlie Brown can’t help finding a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Manager doesn’t usually tell his players where to play – that’s the coaches. So Chuck can be the manager, and Peppermint Patty the coach. :D

“It’s been said before… it’ll be said again… but there’s no “I” in team.”
There is, however, an “m” and an “e”.

I wonder why Charlie Brown thinks that he has to be the pitcher for it to be “his” team?
“Grandpa, you should be sitting at the head of the table.”“My dear, wherever I sit is the head of the table.”

Let her try it for a while, Charlie Brown. You might pick up some tips from her.

Since Peppermint Patty’s sandals are backless, I wonder how she keeps them on while she’s pitching?

There is no “I” in team. However there are two “I’s” in winning.
