Someone in this day and age who is still working for the same company after 38 years? Amazing!
See, there’s the problem. He went 38 years without being late, so the boss expects that. My first few months, I show up late about half the time and leave early to make up for being late. The boss learns quickly that is how I operate and expects it.

He tried to get there as fast as he could, but you can only go so fast on roller skates.
Everybody would be 5 minutes earlier than usual.
